"North Shore series"

        Don Tabor's fourth "big wing" design and the first kite in the "North Shore" series, the North Shore Radical was developed in the summer of 1990. Much like the Hawaiian Team kite, the NSR had an immediate impact on the sport and quickly became the winningest kite in the history of competitive kiting. By 1997, the NSR would claim it's 4th  World Cup Sport Kite Championship. The NSR remains revered to this day, more than 30 years after it's debut.

1989 The Flight Squadron, Kapiolani Park, Hawaii

       In 1992, Don Tabor commissioned a special kite to be made to commemorate the success of the Flight Squadron team and its members Ron Reich, Pam Kirk, Don Tabor and Eric Streed. In years past, custom "team sets" were made for the Flight Squadron in the Hawaiian, 3/4 Hawaiian, Spin-Off and North Shore Radical models with each kite having a different special color representing each pilot. The colors representing the pilots were Red (Ron), Raspberry (Pam), Purple (Don) and Blue (Eric). The kite model chosen for the commission was the double stripe NSR and for the first and only time for "retail", it would include those four colors together on an NSR. The NSR92LE was born and was the only numbered limited edition kite Top Of The Line Sport Kites ever produced.....​
